Silvia Jacinto is a skilled tax partner with more than 10 years of domestic tax experience. She joined Crowe Soberman’s Tax Group in 2011 and became a tax partner in 2014. Formerly, she worked for both global and regional professional service firms. Having practiced in different environments, and with clients from several industries, Silvia has insight into a wide range of subjects. Although she works with clients in all industries, her expertise is real estate tax.

Silvia advises corporations and high net-worth individuals on diverse tax matters including corporate reorganizations, tax planning for Canadian inbound investments, personal tax planning, partnership and trust planning, corporate tax compliance, acquisition and exit strategy planning. Silvia also assists owner-managers and their families with estate and succession planning, and post-mortem tax-minimization planning for deceased taxpayers and their beneficiaries.

Outside of the office, Silvia is actively involved in the professional community. She has delivered numerous presentations on a variety of tax issues, many of which are worth continuing education credits. She has tutored at CPA Canada’s Income Tax Practice course and is a past course instructor for the Tax and Accounting for Paralegals Program at Humber College. Silvia also enjoys writing for and editing the firm’s tax publications.

Silvia has made several media appearances, spoken with the press and contributed articles to many news publications. She has written an article for the Financial Post called "Dividend or salary: Ask yourself these four questions before deciding how to pay yourself" (Dec 2014).  Most recently she was quoted for in "Should clients use the lower RRIF withdrawals?" (Apr 2015). Recently, she joined an expert panel on the Business News Network to discuss the Federal Budget Predictions (Mar 2016).
